Moving sensitivity domain approach for 3D inversion of EM data

TechnoImaging®’s unique patented suite of rigorous 3D inversion method is sped up by several orders magnitude by using moving sensitivity domain approach.

The moving sensitivity domain of the EM system is much smaller than the typical survey area.

The moving sensitivity domain size varies with:

• Frequency/waveform
• Transmitter-receiver configuration
• Earth conductivity

For inversion, each domain is a self-contained 3D model for which EM responses and sensitivities are computed. These sensitivities are then superimposed for all transmitter-receiver pairs into a single, sparse sensitivity matrix for the entire 3D earth model. The entire 3D earth model is updated during inversion.
